Terms of Service & Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 July 2026

Please note. DAGRICON connects farmers and contractors — we are not a party to the work agreement, and payment for work is arranged directly between you. These terms cover your use of DAGRICON and how your information is handled — please read the Privacy Policy below.

1. About DAGRICON & who we are

DAGRICON is an online marketplace connecting South African farmers with agricultural contractors. DAGRICON provides the platform only; it is not a party to the work agreement between a farmer and a contractor.

The platform is operated by DAGRISOL (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2024/404633/07, a company registered in the Republic of South Africa ("DAGRICON", "we", "us"). Our registered address is 20 Rule Street, Kroonstad, Free State, 9499. You can reach us at support@dagricon.co.za. By using DAGRICON you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy below.

2. Accounts

Contractors create an account with an email address and password and must provide accurate profile information (name, location, service area, services and contact details). You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for all activity under your account, and you must be at least 18 years old.

Farmers reach DAGRICON through a secure link from the separate DAGRISOL app and do not create or hold a separate DAGRICON account.

3. Subscriptions & pricing

Browsing jobs is free; expressing interest in a job requires a contractor subscription. Your plan sets how far from your base you can apply (monthly prices in South African Rand):

  • Standard — R300: apply to jobs up to 50 km away.
  • Pro — R500: apply up to 250 km away.
  • Max — R750: apply up to 1000 km away.

Billing is monthly in advance through a secure payment provider (we never see or store your card details), with no free trial. Prices do not currently include VAT (DAGRISOL (Pty) Ltd is not presently VAT-registered; these Terms will be updated if that changes) and may change with reasonable advance notice. Subscriptions renew until cancelled; you may cancel at any time, access continues until the end of the month already paid for, and no pro-rata refunds are given for a partly used month. Nothing here limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act.

4. Payments between farmers and contractors

All payment for contracting work is arranged and made directly between the farmer and the contractor, off the platform. DAGRICON does not process, hold, or guarantee these payments and is not responsible for any dispute over price, payment, or work quality. (The optional subscription (from R300/month) is a separate charge for access to the platform, not payment for any job.)

5. Conduct & acceptable use

You agree to provide services and information honestly, to post honest ratings based on real completed jobs, to communicate respectfully, and not to misuse the platform (spam, fraud, impersonation, attempts to breach security, or unlawful activity). We may suspend accounts that breach these Terms.

6. Content, disclaimers & liability

The DAGRICON platform, brand and software are ours; you receive a limited right to use them. Content you submit (profile, messages, ratings) remains yours, but you grant us permission to host and display it to operate the marketplace. Ratings and reviews are the opinions of the users who post them, not DAGRICON.

The platform is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, DAGRICON is not liable for the acts of farmers or contractors, the outcome or quality of any job, or any loss arising from use of the platform, and our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by South African law. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

7. Termination & governing law

You may stop using DAGRICON and cancel any subscription at any time. We may suspend or end access where these Terms are breached. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. We may update these Terms; we will change the "last updated" date and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to let you know.

Privacy Policy (POPIA)

This policy explains how we handle personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). For the personal information described here, DAGRICON is the responsible party; our Information Officer can be reached at support@dagricon.co.za.

8. What we collect

From contractors (account holders): your name, email and password (stored encrypted/hashed), profile photo, bio, service area and radius, the services you offer, your contact number, ratings and job history, and — so we can match you to nearby jobs — your base GPS location. If account verification is offered, any documents you submit for it are also collected.

From farmers (via the DAGRISOL link): your farm/ display name, the jobs you post (category, description, size, dates) and the job's location, plus chat messages and ratings. Your email arrives with the secure link but is not stored in DAGRICON — we keep only your display name and the job details.

Location is special personal information.A contractor's base location and a job's location are precise GPS data. We use them only to match jobs to nearby contractors and to show distances, and we handle them with extra care.

9. How we use it

To create and secure your account; to match jobs to nearby contractors; to show a contractor's profile to a farmer considering them; to run the chat, ratings and subscription billing; to send you relevant notifications; and to keep the platform safe. We rely on performance of our agreement with you, legitimate interests, your consent, and legal compliance.

10. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal information. To run the marketplace we rely on a small number of trusted service providers who process data on our behalf, including cloud hosting and database providers (to store your data, sign-in and files) and mapping and location services (to draw coverage maps and work out distances). We share data with them only as needed to run the Service.

We also work with DAGRISOL, the separate farm app that farmers arrive from. Payment processing and push notifications are not active yet; we will update this policy before enabling them. We may disclose information where the law requires it.

11. Storage on your device

To keep you signed in and to load quickly and work offline, the app stores your sign-in and a copy of the data you need on your own device. This is cleared when you sign out.

12. Cross-border processing & retention

Our application is served from Vercel's cloud infrastructure (primarily located in the United States) and our database is hosted by Supabase in the [region — read off the Supabase dashboard] region. Where your information is stored or processed outside South Africa, we take reasonable steps to ensure it keeps an adequate level of protection, as required by section 72 of POPIA.

We keep your information while your account is active and as long as needed to run the marketplace. Chat messages are kept as a record of a job. Self-service deletion is not yet built in, so we action deletion and correction requests manually.

13. Your privacy rights

Under POPIA you may access, correct or delete your personal information, object to certain processing, and complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa). To exercise these rights, email support@dagricon.co.za and we will action it.

14. Security, children & changes

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, but no online service is perfectly secure. DAGRICON is for adults (18+) and is not directed at children. We may update this policy; we will change the "last updated" date and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you.
